Military Science (ROTC)
The Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is a college-based, officer commissioning program designed as an elective-curriculum taken along with required college classes. Classes start at a 100 level that start your freshman year and progress to 400 level classes by senior year. Opportunities are also available for graduate students also interested in becoming an officer in the Army. Instead of starting at the 100 level, you will be placed in to the 300 level classes.
All military science classes focus primarily on
- leadership development,
- problem solving,
- strategic planning and
- professional ethics.
ROTC prepares you with the tools, training, and experiences that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can assist with paying for your college tuition while offering additional advantages for select degrees like engineering and medical/nursing. You will have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, but when you graduate, you will be an Officer in the U.S. Army.
