Soft Launch of the 2024–25 FAFSA® Form
On December 31, 2023, Federal Student Aid launched a soft opening of the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form at studentaid.gov. The form will be available for periods of time while they monitor site performance and respond to any potential issues, which means that the site will not be available at all times and will be paused for site maintenance. Visit for more information on what to expect during the soft launch.
Please be patient as you complete the 2024-25 FAFSA during this soft launch period. If you visit the site during a pause, check back later to access the form. It is important to note that - as of January 30, 2024 - the Department of Education released a statement reporting that universities will not receive student FAFSA information until the first half of March.

Our office strives to provide the highest quality of service while awarding all possible financial assistance and supporting the University’s recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts to enable students the ability to achieve their desired educational goals.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an annual application that is required to determine a student's eligibility for grants, loans, and Federal Work-Study. *FAFSA applications are now available for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Important reminders
- Students are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit in order to receive refund checks in a timely manner. Direct deposit sign up is available on the "Money" tab in myGate.
- Students will be allowed to charge books to their student account at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä State University Bookstore.
- Students who live off campus may email the Bursar at msu.bursar@murraystate.edu for an official letter which can be provided to landlords documenting the changes in the availability of refund checks.
Disbursements
Federal/state aid and scholarship payments to eligible students’ accounts will begin after the drop/add period, which is after the 5th day of classes.
